Large woodblock kawaraban broadside pictorially depicting the entrance of Perry's Black Ship squadron into Edo Bay. Two sheets joined, 16x24 1/2 inches overall with two separately printed informational attachments pasted to the lower margin measuring 7 3/4x10 3/4 inches each; original folds, minor edge wear and scattered light stains but generally very fine in style and condition. Rare kawaraban with two original additional attachments below describing the Feudal Lords entrusted to protect the Shogun. The print features an inset with a portrait of Perry and a large portrayal of his flagship USS Powhatan.
